How the economy effects New York Fashion WeekPosted in Fashion Blog » Fashion Pictures & Videos » Fashion Show Coverage Blog  February 2009 is just around the corner and with it comes New York Fashion Week; and seemingly the event's sheer statistics are enough to highlight the current troubles facing the fashion industry in light of the world's economic woes.
Last season IMG Fashion, which organizes Fashion Week, boasted more than 80 designers on its schedule. However, only 52 have been confirmed for February Fashion Week so far.  Fuji steps up to fill a Polaroid voidPosted in Fashion Blog » Fashion Industry » Industry news & changes Blog  Last Feburary there was a sad, sad day. It was the day that Polaroid announced that they would no longer be making film for their instant-film cameras, and inside we all died a little. No longer would we be able shake it, shake it like a Polaroid picture. We all started to hoard film because we knew soon we would no longer be able to get any more. Little did we know we were wrong because this little guy was just around the corner.
This little guy is Fuji's Instax Mini, and right now I'm really tempted to make him part of my camera kit if only for some fun backstage shoots, or out and about with friends.

Shoots for Paradis magazine and countless other magazines, a mention in our 2008 hair trends, a fantastic fashion sense that definitely flatters her full figure, and her replacement of Victoria Beckham as the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs: 2008 was a heck of a year for Daisy Lowe. As if we didn't already have enough signs that 2009 is going to be a lean year, The Guardian is reporting that they will be cutting 200 jobs, most of which will fall within their production workforce. Chanel is blaming a slow down in their luxury sales which is in line with predictions from JP Morgan citing that the luxury market will see sales fall by 4% in 2009. Herringbone has been reported to have dropped in sales up to 23% when compared to 2007.

a) Have no fashion sense.
b) Are probably male.
c) Are woefully lacking in trendiness.
d) Probably own toy lightsabers.
